“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away”
Welcome to LB's Rock N Riding Ranch & Lessons, where our hearts and our mission intertwine. We started with a simple goal: rescue livestock animals, especially those facing uncertain futures, and give them a new chance at life.
Our ranch is a sanctuary where rescued animals enhance our educational programs in western horseback riding and husbandry. Your participation in any lesson or service directly supports their care, covering everything from housing to healthcare.
To further support our cause, we established the Rock N Riding Ranch Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. This allows us to accept tax-deductible donations that are specifically used to offset the high costs of feed and rehabilitation.
Our family of 14 horses, 2 dogs, a goat, and 2 cats isn't just a list of animals; they're the heart of our ranch. They're not just part of our programs – they make them special. When you visit us, you're not just a customer; you're part of our ever-growing, compassionate community.

Equine therapy can be particularly beneficial for children with autism who struggle with comprehending and following directions. Through engaging in equine therapy, children have the opportunity to follow directions in a fun and enjoyable activity, making it easier for them to grasp and remember instructions. Additionally, they are given the chance to communicate by providing directions to the horse, enhancing their communication skills. The natural motivation to move and the excitement associated with equine therapy further motivate children to communicate. As they participate in therapy sessions, their cognitive concepts naturally improve.

Equine therapy can be highly beneficial for children and adolescents with ADD and ADHD by providing a structured yet engaging environment that supports focus, emotional regulation, and self-confidence. Working with horses naturally encourages participants to slow down, pay attention, and become more aware of their actions, since horses respond best to calm, clear, and consistent communication.
Through hands-on activities such as grooming, leading, and obstacle-based exercises, students learn to:
Improve focus and attention
Practice self-control and emotional regulation
Build confidence and patience
Follow multi-step directions in a meaningful, real-world setting
Develop responsibility and problem-solving skills
The physical movement, sensory experience, and interactive nature of equine therapy make learning feel fun rather than forced. Many participants find it easier to stay engaged, regulate their energy, and build positive habits that can transfer into school, home, and social environments.

Equine therapy, or horse therapy, involves interactions between individuals and horses and may offer benefits for individuals with depression, and mothers dealing with postpartum depression. Through emotional connections, mindfulness, physical activity, and a sense of achievement, equine therapy can potentially help reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance self-esteem. However, it should be integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan that includes other evidence-based interventions for depression and postpartum depression. Consulting with a healthcare professional is crucial to determine the most suitable treatment options.

Equine therapy can be especially helpful for children and individuals with sensory sensitivities by providing a soothing, natural environment that gently supports sensory regulation and emotional balance. The barn setting, combined with the rhythmic movement and calming presence of horses, creates a unique space where participants can explore sensory experiences at their own pace.
Through guided activities such as grooming, leading, and spending quiet time with the horse, participants can:
Improve sensory processing and tolerance
Build comfort with touch, sound, and movement
Develop body awareness and emotional regulation
Increase confidence and reduce anxiety in stimulating environments
Horses are highly sensitive and responsive to human energy and behavior, which helps participants become more aware of their own responses and learn self-regulation in a natural, non-pressured way. Over time, many individuals experience improved comfort with sensory input, better emotional balance, and greater confidence in daily activities.

I am so grateful for this path of LB’s Rock n Riding. I couldn’t be happier! I have been riding since age 4, owned my first horse at age 8, and have been helping people ever since. I am wife and mother of two children 14 & 12. My job as a mom has been the most fulfilling and challenging at the same time! It has allowed me to have a very flexible schedule while they are in school. I have a double degree in Criminology and Psychology. In the last 20 years I have worked as a Neighborhood Services Coordinator at the Roseville Police Department and as a Realtor. I am a very hard worker, honest, and a handshake still means something to me. As of 2017 I am solely running Rock N Riding Lessons.
My schooling in my younger years was western pleasure, barrel racing, and trail. Now I get to teach beginners small and tall, what what I love!
All of my horses have been rescues either prior to auction or off the truck heading to slaughter. I rehab them back to health, retrain, and integrate them into my program. I believe with my heart that all people and horses have a purpose in life, you just have to have faith and a lot of time and patience! I love watching the relationships build between the horse and rider and the confidence to grow. It is truly a blessing to watch the great team emerge and the smiles on the beautiful faces. It brings me so much joy as I remember back to my first horse Acacia, who was my best friend my whole life til she had to leave me. There is nothing more powerful than a bond between a girl/boy and their horse. It is magical if you get to experience it!
I do have many helpers that support and love what I do, so you will see teenagers and
adults sometimes when I am not around.
I am a firm believer in…. “The meaning of life is to find your gift, The purpose of life is to give it away.”
My team means the world to me. I could not do it without them. I appreciate all their dedication to me and my fur babies! It takes a village to make a business like this work…
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I look forward to meeting you!
