Welcome to LB's Rock N Riding Ranch & Lessons, where our hearts and our mission intertwine. We started with a simple goal: rescue livestock animals, especially those facing uncertain futures, and give them a new chance at life.
Our ranch is a sanctuary where rescued animals enhance our educational programs in western horseback riding and husbandry. Your participation in any lesson or service directly supports their care, covering everything from housing to healthcare.
To further support our cause, we established the Rock N Riding Ranch Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. This allows us to accept tax-deductible donations that are specifically used to offset the high costs of feed and rehabilitation.
Our family of 14 horses, 3 dogs, a goat, a cat, and 2 kittens isn't just a list of animals; they're the heart of our ranch. They're not just part of our programs – they make them special. When you visit us, you're not just a customer; you're part of our ever-growing, compassionate community.

Equine therapy can be particularly beneficial for children with autism who struggle with comprehending and following directions. Through engaging in equine therapy, children have the opportunity to follow directions in a fun and enjoyable activity, making it easier for them to grasp and remember instructions. Additionally, they are given the chance to communicate by providing directions to the horse, enhancing their communication skills. The natural motivation to move and the excitement associated with equine therapy further motivate children to communicate. As they participate in therapy sessions, their cognitive concepts naturally improve.

Equine therapy, or horse therapy, involves interactions between individuals and horses and may offer benefits for mothers dealing with postpartum depression. Through emotional connections, mindfulness, physical activity, and a sense of achievement, equine therapy can potentially help reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance self-esteem. However, it should be integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan that includes other evidence-based interventions for postpartum depression. Consulting with a healthcare professional is crucial to determine the most suitable treatment options.

I am so grateful for this path of LB’s Rock n Riding. I couldn’t be happier! I have been riding since age 4, owned my first horse at age 8, and have been helping people ever since. I am wife and mother of two children 14 & 12. My job as a mom has been the most fulfilling and challenging at the same time! It has allowed me to have a very flexible schedule while they are in school. I have a double degree in Criminology and Psychology. In the last 20 years I have worked as a Neighborhood Services Coordinator at the Roseville Police Department and as a Realtor. I am a very hard worker, honest, and a handshake still means something to me. As of 2017 I am solely running Rock N Riding Lessons.
My schooling in my younger years was western pleasure, barrel racing, and trail. Now I get to teach beginners small and tall, what what I love!
All of my horses have been rescues either prior to auction or off the truck heading to slaughter. I rehab them back to health, retrain, and integrate them into my program. I believe with my heart that all people and horses have a purpose in life, you just have to have faith and a lot of time and patience! I love watching the relationships build between the horse and rider and the confidence to grow. It is truly a blessing to watch the great team emerge and the smiles on the beautiful faces. It brings me so much joy as I remember back to my first horse Acacia, who was my best friend my whole life til she had to leave me. There is nothing more powerful than a bond between a girl/boy and their horse. It is magical if you get to experience it!
I do have many helpers that support and love what I do, so you will see teenagers and
adults sometimes when I am not around.
I am a firm believer in…. “The meaning of life is to find your gift, The purpose of life is to give it away.”
My team means the world to me. I could not do it without them. I appreciate all their dedication to me and my fur babies! It takes a village to make a business like this work…
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I look forward to meeting you!
